HBO has renewed its pair of Game of Thrones spinoffs, Targaryen dynasty tale House of the Dragon and the upcoming A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, for new seasons.
This will be Season 4 for House of the Dragon, and of course, Season 2 for the not-yet-premiered A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. The renewal news was announced during an HBO press presentation on Thursday morning with Casey Bloys, Chairman and CEO, HBO and HBO Max Content. New photos from the two shows were also unveiled.
Both series will now run through at least 2028.
When does ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’ debut?
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will debut its first season on Jan. 18 at 10 p.m. Season 2 will debut in 2027. House of the Dragon is set to debut in Summer 2026, with the fourth season set for 2028.
Francesca Orsi, EVP, HBO Programming, Head of HBO Drama Series and Films, said, “We are thrilled to be able to deliver new seasons of these two series for the next three years, for the legion of fans of the Game of Thrones universe. Together, HOUSE OF THE DRAGON and A KNIGHT OF THE SEVEN KINGDOMS reveal just how expansive and richly imagined George R. R. Martin’s universe continues to be. In January, I think audiences will be delighted by the inspiring underdog tale of Dunk and Egg that George and Ira Parker have captured so beautifully. And this summer, HOUSE OF THE DRAGON is set to ignite once again with some of its most epic battles yet.”
