Charli xcx is now a film star in her upcoming A24 film, The Moment.

The film is based on an original idea by Charli and, per the logline, “follows a rising pop start navigating ‘the complexities of fame and industry pressure while preparing for her arena tour debut.'”

The film is directed by Aidan Zamiri from a script by Zamiri and Bertie Brandes, and will be produced by Charli’s own banner, Studio 365. Cook will provide the music for the film.

Who else stars in the film?

Starring alongside Charli are Alexander Skarsgard, Rachel Sennott, Rosanna Arquette, Kylie Jenner, Kate Berlant, Rish Shah, Jamie Demetriou, Arielle Dombasle, Trew Mullen, Hailey Benton Gates, Mel Ottenberg, Isaac Powell, Richard Perez, Tish Weinstock, Shygirl, Michael Workéyè and A.G. Cook.

This project is definitely a film that draws on Charli’s real-life experience as a music superstar, and fans of The Weeknd might like how the meta storyline feels like The Weeknd’s meta-commentary on celebrity status in Hurry Up Tomorrow.
