LeBron James remains in the G League as he prepares to come back from injury. The Lakers reassigned James to their G League affiliate, South Bay Lakers, on Sunday, and he’s expected to practice with the team on Monday, ESPN reported.

James first practiced with the South Bay Lakers on Wednesday, completing 5-on-5 sessions.

What is the injury that caused LeBron James to miss the start of the NBA season?

James has missed the first three weeks of the NBA season because of sciatica, an injury affecting his lower back and right side of his body. However, James is now recovering from his injury, and he is moving well, sources told ESPN.

“He went through his first practice of this NBA season and most critically, his first five-on-five action of the season,” ESPN’s Shams Charania reported. “Sources told me this afternoon that LeBron James looked great, felt great as he went through that practice. He moved well and he didn’t show signs of any issues as he’s worked through this nerve issue on his right side.”

As he prepares to make his season debut, James went to Instagram to share an image of his signature Nike shoes next to an hourglass emoji.

When is LeBron James expected to make his season debut?

LeBron James could make his season debut on Tuesday when the Lakers host the Jazz if he doesn’t face any setbacks with his injury, The Sporting News reported. The NBA superstar will make history when he makes his return, becoming the first player to play 23 seasons.

Meanwhile, James’ son Bronny started for the Lakers on Saturday when the Lakers defeated the Milwaukee Bucks 119-95.

“How about Bronny James starting in the NBA and LeBron’s assigned to the G League?” Lakers guard Austin Reaves said in a postgame interview, per ESPN. “That’s fun. That’s awesome.”
