The Legend of Zelda fans are getting a first look at Sony and Nintendo’s live-action adaptation of the video game series. The snaps feature Bo Bragason as the titular Princess Zelda and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link.
Here’s more on the sneak peek and what to know about The Legend of Zelda film adaptation.
Princess Zelda and Link appear to be in Hyrule in the pictures
According to Gizmodo, the photos show Bragason and Ainsworth as Princess Zelda and Link, both separately and together, in a green field that may be the land of Hyrule. Princess Zelda’s outfit appears to be inspired by the Champion’s tunic Link wears in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Link’s costume resembles the tunic he wears in Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
Princess Zelda is also shown with her signature bow and arrow, Variety reported.
Both Princess Zelda and Link are rocking elf-like Hylian ears in the pictures.
Fans are praising the film’s interpretation of Princess Zelda and Link on social media
Fans had a lot to say about the pictures on social media. Most praised the film’s interpretation of Princess Zelda and Link, noting their elf ears and attire looked especially accurate, while others are speculating about the film’s plot.
‘The Legend of Zelda’ director Wes Ball said the video game series is ‘untapped IP’
While not much is known about The Legend of Zelda film adaptation so far, Wes Ball is on board to direct the film. In 2023, Ball, who has directed films like Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes and The Maze Runner, told Entertainment Weekly that reimagining the video game series on the silver screen is the job he’s been waiting his “whole life” for.
“I grew up on Zelda and it is the most important property, I think, that’s untapped IP, if you will,” he told the outlet. “So we very much are working hard to do something. We’re not just trying to do it because we can. We want to make something really special.”
According to Collider, T.S. Nowlin and Derek Connolly penned the script.
When is the film in theaters?
