Leah Sava Jeffries says that in Season 2 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, her character Annabeth will go through an iconic moment in the source material’s lore: her moment with the sirens.
Fans are already hyped as the series will adapt the iconic scene from Sea of Monsters that wasn’t shown in the film franchise.
As Jeffries told Blavity/Shadow and Act Managing Editor Trey Mangum, the scenes have so many spoilers that she can’t even discuss them without giving something important away.
Leah Sava Jeffries teases sirens scene in Season 2
“It’s just like there’s so much stuff that…I will say that everything matters, you know what I’m saying?” she said. “Everything matters in that scene. But to give something to the fans, though, just know that there is so much that you cannot miss. So if you’re thinking of grabbing some food during that time, do not like please because you’re gonna miss a whole lot of it.”
“It’s just very intense,” Jeffries continued, adding that one of the most incredible parts of filming the scene is hearing one of the women who performed one of the singing voices for the sirens.
“It was amazing. I need to figure out who that was and give credit to her because she sounded really good,” she said. “Another part of that is the makeup team did amazing [work] on their faces because it really did scare me…because it was already dark and cold there. I had so much fun, but I was shaking and cold. But it was so good. That’s why I want you guys to see it.”
“It’s so intense that anything that I say will give it away,” she added.
