Former NFL star Reggie Bush will never forget the thrill of winning the 2010 Super Bowl with the New Orleans Saints. Now, he’s excited for the big game to return to the Crescent City this year, offering fans a chance to experience that same magic.
“The Super Bowl’s return to New Orleans puts me right back into the same place as when I got drafted,” Bush told Blavity, recalling how the Saints uplifted the city’s morale after Hurricane Katrina.
Bush fondly remembers the connection he built with the city. “We just wanted to bring happiness. I just want to see people smile. I want to go to the French Quarter, walk out, hug it out, and sign some jerseys. Those are my people,” he said.
Reggie Bush’s Love for New Orleans Culture
Bush’s bond with New Orleans goes beyond football. He appreciates the city’s vibrant culture and, of course, its food. One of his favorite local treats? The oysters from Drago’s Seafood Restaurant.
Still, when it comes to game-day essentials, Bush keeps it simple. “No Super Bowl is complete without chips and dip,” he said. “Tostitos makes the best chips! Even the designs of the chips are perfect for dipping. The Scoops were a great invention.”
Looking Ahead to Super Bowl LVIII
As the Super Bowl approaches, Bush is just as eager to watch the action on the field. When asked who might be celebrating under the confetti this year, Bush was torn but ultimately leaned toward his former teams. “I’m betting all my Tostitos chips on a matchup between the Detroit Lions and the Buffalo Bills,” he joked.
A Chance for Fans to Join the Celebration
Bush has teamed up with Tostitos for a nationwide contest, giving fans a chance to join in the Super Bowl excitement. Participants can enter for a chance to press the official confetti button at the game by stopping a countdown clock at exactly 5.90 seconds.
“It’s not going to be easy. But the more practice you get, the more confident you’ll be to stop that clock at 5.90 seconds. Then I think you’ll be ready to take it over to the real thing,” Bush said.
Fans can participate online at TasteOfSuperBowl.com or in select grocery stores through interactive pop-ups until Jan. 27.
Ready to Celebrate in the Big Easy
Bush is eager to return to New Orleans, where it all began. He’ll be joining other football legends at a free immersive fan event inspired by the city’s iconic French Quarter.
“I can’t wait to walk the streets, feel the energy, and celebrate with the people who supported me from the start,” Bush said.
