Jamie Foxx’s upcoming Netflix film, Fight for ’84, has added 11 cast members, including Euphoria alum Algee Smith, Forever actor Xavier Mills and Mitchell Edwards of All American: Homecoming.

The sports drama film has commenced production in New Jersey. The cast added alongside Foxx and the previously announced Malachi Beasley includes Shea Whigham, Dan Perrault, Will Chase, Algee Smith, Jamir Cope, Mitchell Edwards, Al-Shabazz Jabateh, Tre McBride, Xavier Mills, Adrian Martinez and Javier Bolaños.

Here’s the logline: After the US Olympic Boxing Team is tragically killed in a plane crash in 1980, a new coach is brought in to rebuild the team from scratch and lead them to victory at the ‘84 Olympics, winning the most medals in Olympic boxing history.

The director is Andrés Baiz, who directs from a script by Andrea Berloff and John Gatins, as well as Andy Weiss. Producers are Eric Newman for Grand Electric, Bryan Unkeless for Night Owl, Jamie Foxx and Michael W. Abbott for A Move Films Production. Executive producers are Andy Weiss for A WeBros Entertainment Production, Henry Tillman and Datari Turner.
