Soap opera veteran Jordi Vilasuso is joining Beyond the Gates.

Vilasuso was spotted in the promo for the CBS soap’s upcoming second season, which you can see below. Of course, everything is still kept under wraps about the character, but according to Soap Opera Digest, Vilasuso’s character the man shown with RN Ashley Morgan (Jen Jacobs) in a way that suggests he’s Ashley’s next romantic interest.

A representative for the series would not confirm Vilasuso’s character’s name or his first airdate with Soap Opera Digest, but they did confirm that Vilasuso is a part of the cast this season.

Vilasuso is known in the soap opera world for various roles on daytime soap operas, including Guiding Light, Days of Our Lives, All My Children and The Young and the Restless. He also won a Daytime Emmy for his Guiding Light role as mobster Tony Santos. His most recent role was Rey Rosales on The Young and the Restless. He portrayed the character from 2018 to 2022.

Beyond the Gates is created by Michele Val Jean and stars Tamara Tunie, Clifton Davis, Karla Mosley, Daphnee Duplaix, Timon Kyle Durrett, Arielle Prepetit, Colby Muhammad, Mike Manning, RhonniRose Mantilla, Keith D. Robinson and Marquita Goings, among others.

The series follows the Duprees, a wealthy and politically powerful Black family in the affluent, fictional Maryland gated community, Fairmont Crest. As the descendants of the Black pioneer who created Fairmont Crest, the Duprees enjoy status as a socially and politically active family with ties to the civil rights movement. But behind their perfect exterior are secrets that could ruin their public personas.

When does ‘Beyond The Gates’ Season 2 premiere?

Beyond the Gates Season 2 premieres Jan. 2 on CBS. The first season is currently airing up until Tuesday, Dec. 30, before being preempted on Wednesday due to the Sun Bowl.
