Harris County Police arrested Nakia Holmes, co-founder of Turkey Leg Hut, for allegedly helping a wanted fugitive.
According to FOX26, Holmes was taken into police custody after investigators claimed she opened her home to an ex-boyfriend, Johnathan Saizon, who was accused of a felony. She was charged with hindering the arrest of a suspect at large.
Legal records show that Saizon is involved in an active aggravated kidnapping case. The case’s paperwork revealed that after Saizon posted bond for a different charge, he physically attacked a former girlfriend by hitting her with a tire iron before abducting her and dropping her off at a hospital.

The court documents noted that Harris County authorities first saw Saizon in the driveway of Holmes’ house. Simultaneously, the defendant was running errands to and from her house. During that time, the police pulled Holmes over and questioned her about having a house guest, specifically Saizon. She denied knowing him after cops mentioned to her during the traffic stop that he was last seen at her residence and there was a warrant out for his arrest.
Additionally, authorities received news that someone witnessed Saizon hopping the fence of Holmes’ house to run away when she was on the roadside. Eventually, Holmes changed her story and admitted that she gave Saizon’s mother a ride, expressing concerns about the police being near her home.
Defense says jury will clear Nakia Holmes
According to the Houston Chronicle, Holmes’ initial court appearance on Friday, Patrick Ngwolo, the Harris County Public Defender’s Office attorney representing Holmes, stated he is confident a jury will clear her of the charge of hindering the arrest of a felon.
“When all this plays out, she will be found innocent of all the charges and will be exonerated,” Ngwolo said.
Lyndell Price, who co-founded Turkey Leg Hut, is accused of hiring three men to burn down another business
Things aren’t going well legally for Holmes’ ex-husband, Lyndell Price, who co-founded Turkey Leg Hut with Holmes. In April, federal authorities alleged that Price paid three men to burn down Bar 5015, a neighboring venue tied to an associate with whom he had a falling out.
As Blavity reported, the Justice Department also says Price ran an illicit chop shop and drug operation out of Turkey Leg Hut before it shut down. Holmes is not named in the federal case and has not been accused of wrongdoing.
