ONE Musicfest continues to be the musical gift that keeps on giving.

The festival recently kicked off its 17th year, and the entire weekend was filled with hometown pride and spirit, culminating in consecutive nights when Atlanta music royalty was amplified and uplifted.

From Future’s riveting set that Saturday night to Ludacris’ 25th-anniversary celebration in the music business, featuring notable Atlanta guests including Jeezy, Usher, Jermaine Dupri, and more, the festivities showcased that the South does indeed have something to say.

“Atlanta is our home, and this year we’re celebrating it in the biggest way possible — with Future, Ludacris, and a historic Dungeon Family Reunion honoring the life and legacy of Rico Wade, a true giant in hip-hop,” Jason “J.” Carter, founder of ONE Musicfest, said in a statement ahead of the event. “ONE Musicfest has always been about uniting legends, elevating new voices, and creating unforgettable cultural moments. While we’re paying tribute to Atlanta’s legacy, this year’s lineup reflects the richness and diversity of Black music and culture from across the globe.”

The significance of The Dungeon Family Reunion

On April 14, 2024, producer Rico Wade passed away at 52, leaving a gaping hole in the heart of Atlanta, where he was dubbed the architect of the city’s hip-hop scene. Not only was he considered the cornerstone of Organized Noize, the production trio featuring Sleepy Brown and Big Rube, but also of the musical collective, Dungeon Family, known for taking Southern hip-hop and infusing it with heavy funk and soul.

The collective birthed the careers of acts like Cool Breeze, Killer Mike, Outkast, Goodie Mob, Future, Janelle Monáe, and countless others, which is why Atlanta natives and hip-hop fans alike gathered to celebrate the reunion during the 2025 ONE Musicfest, where Sleepy Brown, Big Boi, Goodie Mob and Killer Mike were just a few of the acts who brought generations together through performances of hits like “The Way You Move” and “Cell Therapy.”

To close it out, Wade’s cousin, Future, hit the stage for a rock-star performance that opened with a tribute to his late friend and collaborator Young Scooter, followed by him plummeting through his chart-topping hits like “March Madness,” “Stick Talk,” “Like That,” and others.

Who else performed at the 2025 ONE Musicfest?

Along with headliners and a few surprises, other acts hit the stage for a weekend dubbed the musical homecoming of Atlanta.

The weekend included performances by Doechii, The Roots with Busta Rhymes, Havoc of Mobb Deep, Mary J. Blige, Usher, Fergie, Kehlani, The Clipse, Jeezy, Jazmine Sullivan, D-Nice with Ari Lennox, Case, Tweet, Carl Thomas, and Uncle Luke, Leon Thomas, Wale, Jadakiss, and more!
