A sprawling, starry ensemble cast has been announced for Netflix’s romance film starring Larenz Tate and Nia Long.

Previously untitled, the film has now been given the name Don’t Ever Wonder.

Blair Underwood, Laz Alonso, Susan Kelechi Watson, Pauletta Washington, Dennis Haysbert, Chante Adams, Algee Smith, Grasie Mercedes, Navia Robinson and Yolonda Ross.

Directed by Sylvie’s Love helmer Eugene Ashe, the script is from Ashe and Kay Oyegun.

What could ‘Don’t Ever Wonder’ be about?

Not much is known about the plot, as it is being kept under tight wraps, but it is confirmed that it is a “romance inspired by Maxwell’s Urban Hang Suite album.

As Blavity/Shadow and Act’s Monique Jones wrote previously, “If you are a fan of the album, your mind might be spinning with possibilities. Two singles from the album include ‘Ascension (Don’t Ever Wonder)’ and ‘Sumthin’ Sumthin’. Both songs are about freely giving and accepting love, so maybe the film will have the same easy-going feeling as these two songs.”

Tate and Long are also starring in the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic, Michael, directed by Antoine Fuqua. It will be released on April 24, 2026, release.
