Divorces are infamous for being messy, and the disunion of rapper Nas and singer Kelis was no different. However, after years of back-and-forth, rumors and allegations, Nas took to Instagram to give his version of the truth.
In an April interview, Kelis alleged the Illmatic rapper was abusive during their marriage. Nas finally decided to address the allegations, saying that Kelis' claims are false. In a seven-part letter, the Queens native goes on to spew a few claims of his own against the singer. According to Nas, she makes an effort to keep their son from him in addition to being less than kind to their staff, his daughter and jeopardizing his professional relationships.
According to Nas' initial post, the basis for his rant came after Essence magazine contacted him about another "fictitious story" from his ex-wife. While we aren't given information about what exactly was said, Nas said this is all a part of Kelis' plan to keep their son away from him.
The 44-year-old continued with his allegations against her, saying she was the pot calling the kettle black when it comes to being abusive.
"There’s some seriously crazy things I won’t I disclose for our son’s sake," he wrote. "Because you keep my son from me, I've been going thru [sic] lawyers to stop you from this bullshit; I’m tired of it. I’m tired of you painting a bad picture of me."
He then denied he was ever physically abusive.
"Everything with her is a plot and a scheme. Has no merit. No foundation," Nas wrote in the sixth part of his letter.
The letter went on with what seem to be emotionally triggered ramblings. Kelis has yet to respond to the new allegations against her; however, this side of the story has left many people wondering which partner's truth is the actual truth.
