Fans of Tyler Perry’s The Oval have been on pins and needles waiting to see who survived the civil war within the White House. With the sixth season premiere, fans finally know who they will see again and who they must bid farewell to.

As the network notes, the episode, “No Escape,” sees “Hunter and Eli recover and plan their next steps” as “Priscilla is convinced she can convince Hunter to leave the White House residence.”

Did someone die ‘The Oval’ Season 6 premiere?

Thankfully, according to TVLine, the results are very much a RuPaul’s Drag Race twist situation in which everyone is saved from elimination. Despite the explosive finale, which saw guns blazing in every direction, no major characters met their end.

Is that fantastic storytelling or a build-up that leads to nothing? That might be the litmus test for fans as the sixth season rolls on, which TVLine described as “business as usual.” The only big twist was that Hunter (Ed Quinn) and Jason (Daniel Croix) formed their own alliance, something longtime viewers might have not seen coming.

Even though nothing came of the fifth season finale melee, many fans are probably glad to get The Oval back in their lives right as the TV-watching season heats up.

Executive produced, directed, and written by Tyler Perry, The Oval stars Ed Quinn, Kron Moore, Javon Johnson, Ptosha Storey, Vaughn Hebron, Teesha Renee, Daniel Croix Henderson, Lodric Collins, Ciera Payton, Walter Fauntleroy, Taja V. Simpson, Brad Benedict, Travis Cure, Matthew Law, Bill Barrett, Derek A. Dixon, Nick Barrotta, Kaye Singleton and Russell Thomas.
