The film stars the three actors as reality show contestants who find friendship in this unlikely circumstance. The three stick together after the show as they navigate love and loss in real life.
What will ‘Toni Braxton: Breathe Again’ be about?
Here’s more about the film:
Toni Braxton’s Breathe Again reunites Braxton with NAACP Image Award nominee Essence Atkins (He Wasn’t Man Enough, First Wives Club) and also stars Emmy® Award winner Cree Summer (A Different World, Rugrats). Breathe Again follows three women, Jennifer (Braxton), Vanessa (Summer), and Evelyn (Atkins), whose worlds collide when they meet as contestants on a reality dating show and suffer heartbreak under the spotlight. Their shared rejection sparks an unlikely sisterhood that carries them from Los Angeles to a new life in Seattle. There, they navigate fresh starts, second chances, and the messy realities of dating, friendship, and family. Jennifer rediscovers her voice as an artist, Vanessa rebuilds her interior design business while opening herself to love again, and Evelyn faces her grief by daring to embrace joy and possibility. Along the way, the women learn that while romance may come and go, friendship is the love story that lasts a lifetime.
This is the second of Braxton’s films for Lifetime. The first, Toni Braxton’s He Wasn’t Man Enough, debuted this November and also starred Atkins. Executive producers Braxton include Kenneth Crear, Lifetime’s Howard Braunstein and director Stan Brooks.
