Is Sadie Sink’s character actually one of the villains of the upcoming Spider-Man film in 2026?
According to Forbes, an unfinished Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer surfaced online following a series of leaks at Disney, and the clip may reveal a new adversary for the webbed superhero.
‘Stranger Things’ star Sadie Sink may be up against the film’s titular hero
While we haven’t seen it ourselves, online sleuths say the unreleased trailer is blurry and difficult to decipher, but the audio is much easier to follow, and fans have been quick to try to transcribe the clip, IGN reported.
It kicks off with Peter Parker (Tom Holland) telling an unknown person that he’s Spider-Man. Later, Stranger Things star Sadie Sink’s character is heard threatening Parker and reveals that she knows his true identity.
“You’re a mess, Spider-Man,” the 23-year-old’s character says in the trailer. “Don’t get in my way. Otherwise, it won’t just be your friends who don’t remember who Peter Parker is.”
Screen grabs of Sink confronting Holland’s Spider-Man have circulated online.
While Sony and Marvel have been tight-lipped about Sink’s casting, fans have speculated who she may portray. Some have guessed X-Men’s Jean Grey, while others have argued she may be Mayday Parker in the upcoming film. The leak has also pushed fans to think Sink may play Shathra, a “Wasp-Goddess” who has appeared in the Spider-Man comics, Forbes reported.
Fans are reacting to the unreleased trailer on social media
As fans piece together their theories, many are flocking to social media to share their reactions to the leaked trailer.
‘Professor Banner’ and Frank Castle are also heard in the trailer
According to IGN, the villainous nature of Sink’s character isn’t the only potential spoiler in the trailer. In the teaser, Spider-Man is heard addressing “Professor Banner,” also known as Bruce Banner/The Hulk of the Avengers, portrayed by Mark Ruffalo. Like Sink’s involvement in the film, Sony and Marvel have remained tight-lipped about Ruffalo’s appearance.
Fans also heard Frank Castle, The Punisher, in the trailer. It sounds like Castle, who’s played by Jon Bernthal, tells Parker upon Professor Banner’s arrival that he’s here to “save your ass.”
Sony has flagged Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer uploads, and the film is slated for release on July 31.
