Soulja Boy was spotted giving a lump sum of money to children who were selling candy.
On Wednesday, DJ Akademiks posted two videos on Instagram with the caption “Big Draco leading by example!” In the first video, you can hear Soulja Boy saying to a child who is selling candy on the sidewalk, that he is “the first rapper to give a n***a a bankroll and let him keep the candy."
In the second video, the rapper born DeAndre Cortez Way, was spotted giving money to another child who was selling candy.
This comes a day after rapper DaBaby was criticized for teaching a lesson to two teenagers who were selling candy for a fundraiser, Blavity previously reported. In a viral video the rapper, born Jonathan Lyndale Kirk, is seen asking the teens how much they want for each box of candy. When one of the teens stated that he wanted $200, Dababy explained that that to be problematic and instead only gave each teen $2 in exchange for candy.
1 . Should the kids have tried to finesse da baby ? No
2. Should da baby have gone back and handed them $200 or more after teaching them a lesson ? Yes but he doesn’t owe them anything

Some people on social media thought that Soulja Boy did the right thing by giving back to the community.

But how do you know he hasn’t given away 100x already and this was just the one time he recorded it? You don’t. So stop turning a positive into a negative. If He gave you a bankroll I doubt you would’ve tweeted this or gave af about the reason because you still got the money ????????♂️

Some of y’all just look for anything to be negative. He shows this, it becomes trendy to give or donate to these young men. Some of them may actually be taking care of home or helping their mom at a young age. Everything not for clout. Either way it’s a win win situation.

Others were not impressed with Soulja Boy and felt like the video was a weak attempt at clout.
This joke of always being the first rapper to do something is cringe + he fell off

This man is relevant for all the wrong reasons.

But this kid did not ask you for your money. He also didn’t lie about the cost and say he had to sell all of them. He’s just fundraising and you contributed as you should with the given position. It’s simple ????????♂️

Whether Soulja Boy did this for clout or to troll DaBaby, he still donated a large amount of money to two minors and some are hoping that this turns into a trend amongst rappers.
