Netflix has unveiled its 2026 television slate and updates for titles, and it includes a new sneak peek image from its upcoming Man on Fire series, which stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. It is based on the book of the same name, which was also adapted into the 2004 Denzel Washington and Dakota Fanning film.

Set to premiere this year, the series will also star Billie Boullet, Bobby Cannavale, Alice Braga, Scoot McNairy and Paul Ben-Victor. Kyle Killen is the writer and showrunner.

Steven Caple Jr. directs the first two episodes. Executive producers are Arnon Milchan, Yariv Milchan, and Natalie Lehmann for New Regency Productions; Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, and Tracey Cook for Chernin Entertainment; Killen and Scott Pennington for Chapter Eleven. Caple, Ed McDonnell, Michael Polaire, and Abdul-Mateen also executive produce with Stacy Perskie, who executive produces for RedRum.

No premiere date is known right now, only that it will premiere this year.

What will the ‘Man on Fire’ Netflix series be about?

Based on A.J. Quinnell’s book series, Man on Fire tells the story of John Creasy. Once a high-functioning and skilled special forces mercenary known for surviving even the most desolate of situations, Creasy is now plagued with intense PTSD. Determined to overcome his personal demons, he sets out on a path to redemption. But before he can adjust to this new life, he finds himself back in the fire, fighting harder than ever.
