Sophia “SoGucci” Williams is leaving Belle Collective, following in the footsteps of her BFF Aikisha Colon. The fitness trainer and realtor, who joined the cast in OWN series’ second season alongside her husband JJ, revealed she’s stepping away to focus on healing her blended family after two tumultuous seasons. Despite receiving a pick-up letter for another season, Williams announced her decision to prioritize family dynamics over the drama-filled show.
This is the second recent exit from the show
This news comes shortly after Colon revealed during a YouTube Live with Carlos King that she also wouldn’t be returning to the series. The revelation caught King by surprise, as he hadn’t been informed beforehand. Colon’s announcement, paired with Williams’ departure, marks a significant shift for the show as two fan favorites exit.
Family feuds dominate the recent seasons
Last season, tensions boiled over when Williams initiated a physical altercation with JJ’s ex-wife, Selena, leading to charges and a no-contact order. The ongoing conflict also highlighted a deep divide within the family, as JJ’s daughters refused to connect with Williams, prompting JJ to cut off communication with them. The situation reached a peak when JJ skipped his daughter’s gender reveal party.
Struggles with motherhood took center stage during season as well
The show further explored Williams’ challenges with her own daughter. In a particularly emotional episode, her daughter expressed feeling neglected in favor of Williams’ relationship with JJ, which led to mental health struggles, including suicidal thoughts. During the reunion, Williams acknowledged her mistakes and expressed regret for not prioritizing her daughter’s well-being.
Williams reflects on her exit
In an Instagram post, Williams opened up about her decision to leave the series after three seasons. “Watching the reunion episode was very hard to sit through, especially now knowing where my family currently stands,” she wrote. “I was disappointed in my actions because, even though I had my reasons, it should never have been addressed on this platform from the beginning. I take full accountability for letting the show impact my family’s integrity.”
She continued, “I have apologized publicly and privately to Selena for my part in this production. We are moving forward, putting our family first and focusing on healing.” Williams noted that all family members, including the children, are now on better terms.
