CBS has renewed the freshman procedurals Boston Blue and Sheriff Country for second seasons.

Both happen to be spinoffs, with Boston Blue being a spinoff of Blue Bloods and Sheriff Country being a spinoff of Fire Country. The shows’ second seasons will air during the 2026-27 television season.

“Two new shows on Friday night have become instant hits, with audiences quickly embracing BOSTON BLUE and SHERIFF COUNTRY across broadcast and streaming,” said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, in a statement. “These early renewals reflect the power of character-driven storytelling, compelling narratives and the exceptional talent on both sides of the camera that make these series truly stand out.”

Sheriff Country‘s logline is as follows: Set in small-town Edgewater, Calif., SHERIFF COUNTRY follows Sheriff Mickey Fox as she investigates criminal activity while navigating complex family dynamics.

The series stars Morena Baccarin (Mickey Fox), Matt Lauria (Nathan Boone), W. Earl Brown (Wes Fox), Christopher Gorham (Travis Fraley) and Michele Weaver (Cassidy Campbell).
