Actor Tylor Chase is receiving support from former colleagues this holiday season.
How did Daniel Curtis Lee help Tylor Chase in his time of need?
The Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide alum, 36, reunited with fellow co-star Daniel Curtis Lee, 34, who reached out to help Chase a day after viral social media footage showed him experiencing homelessness in California, according to People and E! News.
On Tuesday, Lee shared an update on his efforts to help Chase secure temporary shelter while he and others work toward long-term stability.
“I just wanted to give you an update,” Lee shared in an Instagram video. “Shaun Weiss and his team put a lot of effort into trying to get him into a hospital last night — and I thought it worked. His dad told me it worked, but it turns out he kind of backed out.”
“So, today I went to have pizza with him,” he continued, sharing footage from their meal together at Blaze Pizza. “Also, I got to let him chat with his old friend Devon Werkheiser.”
‘All we got to do is stay with it and keep working’
Lee also explained that although they weren’t able to get Chase to a hospital Monday night, he found hotel accommodations that worked for him.
“He trusted an old friend,” Lee continued. “Yeah, it’s the holiday season. It’s raining out, and I just want him to have at least some basic accommodations. He wanted to stay local, and this was the only one that was open and accepted people.”
After securing the hotel room, Lee promised to come back and check on Chase so he could help him get the proper care he needed.
“Okay, thank you so much,” Chase replied as Lee reached out to embrace him.
“Give me a hug, man. Love you, brother. Love you, man. So happy to see you, dude,” Lee said. “You’re the man, brother, and I believe in you, and we’re gonna win, bro. All we got to do is stay with it and keep working, dude.”
Lee talked about raising funds and other resources for Chase
On Monday, Lee shared an Instagram video in response to those asking whether he remained in touch with Chase after he initially shared a TikTok video of himself visiting the actor.
“So, a lot of people have been reaching out and checking if I’m still in touch with Tylor since that last TikTok video where I went to visit him,” Lee said. “And, yeah, man, as a matter of fact, I just got off a call with him.”
Lee continued, stating that it has been difficult maintaining communication with Chase because “he’ll have a phone one day and then maybe not the next.”
He also confirmed that Chase was able to FaceTime his dad, and they had a moment together — something Lee said he was happy about.
“Love is all we can really give people sometimes,” Lee explained. “I’m happy that he was able to have that connection with his pops.”
Lee also talked about raising funds through a trust for Chase, asking both Instagram and TikTok followers if anyone had resources for that initiative.
“He’s on my heart, often on my mind,” the actor said.
