The trailer for the new Ghostbusters hit the Internet, and took many aback with the way the casting was set up. 30 years ago, four scientist answered the call, this year it’s three scientist… and an MTA employee?

It’s 20FUCKING16 can a Black woman be in a movie without screaming and bitchslapping, and being dumber than her white peers? #Ghostbusters

3 working class women and one scientist would have been cool too. But the only non scientist is the black lady? Child.

I’m tired of us pretending the sideline sidekick racism of the new AWESOME wave of feminist representation is a bug, it’s a feature

WW: “We’re highly respected and trained scientists/paranormal experts”

Not that there is anything wrong with an MTA employee, we all know they’re doing the Lord’s work, but was it not plausible for the black character to be one of the scientist?
