Michelle Wolf's set at the White House Correspondents Dinner had people divided over her remarks about Sarah Huckabee Sanders. With everyone focused on that, many missed her advocacy for the Flint, which still faces a water crisis.
Wolf’s comments about Sanders’ eyeliner and shenanigans were entertaining, but she ended her time at the podium with a very important statement: "Flint still doesn't have clean water."
She’s right.
April marked 4 years of contaminated water in Flint, Michigan. To make matters worse, on April 9, Governor Rick Snyder announced his state would stop distributing bottled water to affected residents, NBC News reports. Snyder claimed the water was safe enough for consumption.
"We have worked diligently to restore the water quality and the scientific data now proves the water system is stable and the need for bottled water has ended," said Snyder in a statement. "We will now focus even more of our efforts on continuing with the health, education and economic development assistance needed to help move Flint forward.”
Since the decision, Flint residents and their supporters have taken up the task of making sure the city has clean water.
Little Miss Flint Mari Copeny has spent several years of her young life fighting the water crisis. She released a line of sweatshirts, Four Years Forgotten, in March to raise money for children affected by the water crisis. She has also hosted movie screenings, Christmas toy drives and distributed backpacks to over 1000 of her peers.
Currently, Copeny is promoting a GoFundMe to raise money for water distribution. The original goal was $25,000 but supporters surpassed that target it by over $3,000.
FLINT IS STILL IN CRISIS

The media has glossed over Wolf’s Flint line but it looks like Twitter is here to remind everyone of the crisis.
Bernice King, activist and daughter of Martin Luther King Jr., put it plain:
The statement from last night’s #WHCD that we all should be the most alarmed by and working to make untrue today: “#Flint still doesn’t have clean water.” When eradicating poverty and systemic racism becomes a shared legislative priority…

Other users reminded the public that, Flint isn't the only crisis the country needs to handle:
Flint still doesn’t have clean water.
US Virgin Islands are still in crisis.
Puerto Rico is still in crisis.Where’s the outrage?

Wolf dropped Flint into the laps of politicians and journalists at the dinner. Hopefully, they will soon stop talking about that eye shadow.
