University of North Carolina basketball star Seth Trimble is now the owner of a local Ben & Jerry’s store. Trimble announced his achievement on social media, saying he has accomplished one of his longtime goals.
“In the recent months, I have been blessed with the opportunity to fulfill one of my many dreams and aspirations of entrepreneurship,” Trimble wrote on Instagram. “I’m extremely grateful to officially be able to say that I am now an owner of the Ben & Jerry’s store on Franklin st 🐄🍦. The main goal is always the main goal, but I’m excited to stamp myself in a different way at this University. I am honored to reinvest in the community that has given so much to me. Go get y’all’s Ben & Jerry’s!”
Seth Trimble is now the youngest person to own a Ben & Jerry’s franchise store
According to Pro Football Network, the 21-year-old used his NIL savings to secure ownership of the popular ice cream franchise.
In a recent interview with Inside Carolina, Trimble said he started thinking about entrepreneurship in high school. The North Carolina guard, who averaged 27.1 points, 7.4 rebounds and 4.4 assists in high school, said he wants to be more than just an athlete.
“I know the ball doesn’t juggle forever, and I know that me as a human being, I’m allowed to have many interests in life, you know, basketball is a thing that I crave the most, it’s what I love to do, but, you know, there’s things that I also want to explore and that’s the business world, that’s entrepreneurship,” he said.
How did Seth Trimble become the owner of a Ben & Jerry’s franchise store?
Trimble made a connection at the 2022 Final Four, per Pro Football Network. At that time, Trimble met the son of entrepreneur Antonio McBroom, who asked the basketball star for a picture. After sparking a conversation with Knox, Trimble connected with McBroom, who was previously the youngest Ben & Jerry’s franchise owner. Trimble stayed in touch with McBroom, who helped him realize his dream.
“About last year, I mean my sophomore year, me and Antonio, we have our little meetings, and he would just speak about it, you know, this is what you could do one day, you could become a Ben and Jerry’s owner,” Trimble told Pro Football Network.
That one day is now here.
