There's no denying Grammy nominated R&B singer Ginuwine's talent. The Washington, D.C. native has a number of hits and a career that spans nearly three decades. However, the singer has been getting some side eyes as of late after posting a selfie of a brand new look on Tuesday.
In an Instagram post to his nearly 600,000 followers, Ginuwine unveiled his new beard in a photo bearing the caption "We getting there ok!!!!!!"
While many fans fawned over his handsomeness, some users couldn't help but point out there was something artificial about the "Pony" singer's beard.
"The Carlos boozer sharpie beard," one comment read.
"It’s not even the same texture as the hair I have seen on him before," another user wrote.
"I sure hope it don’t rain," someone else said.
Over on Twitter, the replies were even more out of pocket:

Ginuwine caught wind of the shade, and informed fans that his beard is not made of shoe polish, but is, in fact, 100 percent natural.

One tweeter wrote she wasn't shocked to see the public roasting, praising the internet's ability to create hilarious furor over even the most minuscule topics.
If you would’ve told me last year that Ginuwine’s beard would be topic in 2019, I would’ve believed you. Twitter finds the most obscure things and makes them hilarious.

She's not wrong. As Blavity reported earlier this week, fellow entertainer Usher was the recipient of social media shade after he stepped out for a New Years Eve function in a retro auntie perm.
