An increase in news and content coverage from Africa is on the way with CNN’s new, digital-driven, multi-platform launch. In an effort to building a stronger digital presence and fulfill a commitment to better responses of breaking news, the content operation based in Lagos, Nigeria will cover pressing issues happening in Nigeria and the entire continent of Africa.

Supervising producer of CNN Africa, Stephanie Busari will lead the way and says she’s proud to be a part of the expansion. As a native Nigerian and a first-responder to many of the significant news stories coming from Africa including that of the Missing Chibok girls, Busari stated that her “return to Nigeria at such an important time in the country’s history is a proud and exciting moment for me.”

While acting as head of CNN’s Africa digital content, Busari will also be responsible for building CNN International’s coverage of breaking news across Africa on television, developing ongoing projects from the continent, and maintaining cross-platform content of news and special features.

“This is such a vibrant country, full of possibilities, and as well as my broader remit looking at Africa as a whole this role will be about putting the many sides of Nigeria itself into sharper relief for the world,” Busari stated.

Stephanie Busari has a lot of responsibilities to undertake as this new project begins, but sthere is surely no one better to take on this new launch. The multi-award winning journalist is sure to bring the necessary news and content happening in Africa to the whole world and we will definitely be watching.
