Since 2012, it has been Galvanize’s mission to build communities for the next generation of leaders by creating life-changing opportunities for growth in tech. And with the reported lack of diversity in the industry, the organization has strived to engage underrepresented groups in order to actively alter this dynamic since. “To create a truly inclusive workforce, we have to ensure that anyone with ambition has a chance to become a developer and join the tech world,” Ryan Nadeau, Director of Special Projects at Galvanize, shared. “A big part of my mission at Galvanize is to ensure that we’re providing the right opportunities to to help diversify our industry.”

Akin to the company’s goals, Galvanize recently announced their new partnership with Atlassian, one the world’s leading tech companies, to provide $20,000 in scholarships to women of African American, Latina and Native American descent at Galvanize Full Stack, as well as providing resources to the selected candidates for mentorship and support. “My favorite part about this new scholarship is that it shows how committed Atlassian is to driving net new diverse talent into our industry by focusing at the beginning of the funnel vs recruiting senior engineers already in the market,” Nadeau said.

Along with this exciting opportunity, Galvanize also provides other scholarships and tuition assistance for individuals of all backgrounds, genders and ethnic origins.
