Trinidad and Tobago swept straight past the U.S. in the men's 4×400 meter relay Sunday earning them the last big upset of the 2017 IAAF World Championships.

Trinidad and Tobago's Lalonde Gordon stayed behind the United State's Fred Kerley for most of the last lap. The U.S. had seemingly won the race up until the last few moments when Gordon was able to push past Kerley. Trinidad and Tobago ultimately won the race in 2 minutes, 58.12 seconds, leaving the U.S. team with second place with a time of 2:58.61. Britain took bronze in 2:59.00.

The United States had not lost at the world championships since 2003, but they lost to a more than worthy opponent.
