What does D’Angelo have cooking up his sleeve?

Last Sunday, timelines went crazy with the possibility of being gifted a new album from the new-soul artist. Kevin Liles’ management company, KWL, posted this cryptic message on their Instagram page:

“Ready for another D’Angelo album? Might be coming sooner than you think!”

The clock emoji added to the end of the caption was purely the cherry on top of this sweet musical sundae.

Days later, the image was taken down after a few caption edits. While nothing’s been confirmed by either party involved, the singer’s track record with musical releases has been nothing short of stellar. Thus, emphasizing our excitement.

D’Angelo’s last studio album, Black Messiah, garnished lots of critical acclaim and won several awards after its 2014 release. Before that, fans hadn't received new music from D’Angelo for almost 14 years.

Needless to say, we’re down with the hype and totally here for some new R&B heat.
