Danielle Brooks exudes body confidence and has never been apologetic about loving the skin she’s in. So when American fashion designer, Christian Siriano was looking for a gorgeous woman to act as the face for his new Lane Bryant collection, he knew Brooks was the only choice.

Brooks has always been a fan of Siriano’s work as evident in the great, beautiful gowns she has slayed in on red carpets. Siriano’s Lane Bryant collection full of bright, bold colors and patterns is what attracted Brooks to partner up in this new campaign. She told People magazine,

“Being plus-size, it’s very easy to put a woman in black or navy dress, but to get to show color on my chocolate skin is really fun for me, and it’s not an option that always comes around.”

After winning the fourth season of popular fashion design competition series, Project Runway, Christian Siriano has found huge success as a designer and racked up a famous celebrity clientele including Solange Knowles and Nicki Minaj. When it comes to fashion and his approach as a designer he said to People magazine that “the goal at the end of the day is to sell clothes that women can wear. We’ve always dressed women of all shapes and sizes since I’ve started. So I’ve never understood not having something for every woman. It’s like, why would you do that?”

We couldn’t agree more, Christian. Danielle continues to be an inspiration for all women and girls as she casually gives us life and lets her #BlackGirlMagic shine for all to see. The clothes don’t wear her, she wears them and she wears them well.

The Christian Siriano for Lane Bryant Collection will be in stores April 28th.
