It looks like the last quarter of the year is going to be epic for hip-hop, even just judging by this week alone. Let’s focus though — early Friday morning, TDE tweeted out a small teaser that featured none other than the “Black Lip Bastard” himself, Ab-Soul.

2016 has been a quiet year for Ab…until he dropped a verse on Schoolboy Q’s “tHat part” (remix) and followed that up with a heater on Danny Brown’s “Really Doe.” Here we are today with “Huey Knew,” and let me tell you, it sounds like Ab-Soul is back.

Behind a haunting instrumental by Willie B, Ab-Soul brings us what we’ve been waiting for. Woke bars to educate the masses and lyrical prowess to put other rappers in their place. “ Huey Knew” also features Da$h, who holds his own with the Black Hippy emcee. Although there are no updates on when we’re getting Ab’s next full-length, we do know the album was turned in for mixing and mastering last month.
