Janet Hubert and Will Smith are celebrating each other's accomplishments as part of their rekindled friendship, following last year's reconciliation that ended their decades-long feud. People magazine reports Hubert made an appearance as an audience member at the actor's "Will Smith: An Evening of Stories With Friends" event in Brooklyn, New York, where she received a tearful two-minute standing ovation by the crowd.

Smith, while sharing some of the stories included in his new memoir and the life lessons he gained while working on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, punctuated the evening by recognizing some special guests in the crowd: Karyn Parsons, who played Hilary Banks on the show, and Hubert, "the original Aunt Viv," as he introduced her. Hubert reportedly waved out to her fans during the audience's excited eruption of applause.
"Stand up, Janet. Get your flowers!" Smith said. "Take it in! Take that in!"
The two had a special moment last year during HBO Max's reunion special, where they sat down together for the first time in 27 years, hashed out their differences stemming from Hubert's abrupt exit from the series in 1993 and put their issues behind them.
"That is such a beautiful thing. Thank you all. You know, Janet and I — I'm assuming you all saw Janet and I a few months ago on the 30th anniversary of Fresh Prince, for the first time talked out the issues that we had had." Smith said at the event.
"It was one of the most healing experiences of my life, and it was a big part of the place that working on this memoir got me into," he continued. "I just wanna thank you, Janet, for being open. That's a big part of the exploration that I wanted to do in this book."

Will I am humbled, you got me good this time. I came to support YOU, and you shared your light. I was overwhelmed by the love! ???? THANK you everyone!— Janet Hubert (@OGJanetHubert) November 10, 2021
Hubert responded to the touching interaction, telling People magazine earlier in November that having the tough conversation with the Pursuit of Happiness star has given her peace.
"If there are tree roots in the drain, the water doesn't flow," she said, adding: "The drain has been snaked."
Despite having gone through such a major Hollywood debacle with Smith, she's maintained steady jobs in Hollywood. While she hasn't earned a major role since the sitcom, the actress said her appearances and gigs today shouldn't be looked at as a "comeback."
"I don't know if it's a comeback," she told the outlet. "I haven't come from anywhere; I've been here. It's just now … I always had to prove myself. I also had to walk in with a presupposition, and I don't have to do that anymore, which is really lovely."
