Tennis star Serena Williams has shown the world her singing talent in a new video for breast cancer awareness month.
Williams released the video on her Instagram on September 29, baring her toned physique while singing a rousing rendition of "I Touch Myself" by the Divinyls. She is asking all women to self-examine themselves regularly to possibly prevent breast cancer from claiming their lives, reports Sports Illustrated.
"Yes, this put me out of my comfort zone, but I wanted to do it because it’s an issue that affects all women of all colors, all around the world," she wrote. "Early detection is key — it saves so many lives. I just hope this helps to remind women of that."
In a partnership with I Touch Myself Project, the 23-time Grand Slam winner has used her platform as one of the greatest living athletes to help women with this worthy cause.
"The music video is part of the I Touch Myself Project which was created in honor of celebrated diva, Chrissy Amphlett, who passed away from breast cancer, and who gave us her hit song to remind women to put their health first."
