President Trump recently signed an executive order ending his administration's immigration policy of forcibly separating children from their parents at the U.S./Mexico border. However, because more than 2,000 children had already been separated from their families, activists knew the fight was far from over.
Now, according to ABC News, Trump has reminded the world that the fight over immigration isn't over in the worst way.
On Sunday, June 24, Trump decided to criticize current immigrant laws by claiming they allow undocumented immigrants to "invade our country."
We cannot allow all of these people to invade our Country. When somebody comes in, we must immediately, with no Judges or Court Cases, bring them back from where they came. His tweets echoed his rhetoric from the campaign trail.
On Monday, Trump doubled-down on his Sunday comments tweeting, "Hiring many thousands of judges, and going through a long and complicated legal process, is not the way to go — will always be disfunctional [sic]."
The president seemed to be suggesting he believed giving asylum seekers the right to plead their cases was not necessary, that, in fact, no due process was required in any immigration case.

And, yes, he is still on that "build the wall" thing.

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) pointed out just how flat-out wrong the president's tweet is, labeling his suggestion "both illegal and unconstitutional."

BuzzFeed News also recently reported there are 100 children currently being held with "sponsors," in addition to the over 2,300 children previously known to be separated from their parents.
