Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott announced on Twitter that she is the first female rapper to earn six RIAA platinum-certified, albums in a row, according to All Hip Hop.

Missy pays respect to her hip-hop contemporaries and honors her fans.

Elliott celebrated her success and credited her fellow "sisters in hip-hop" in a tweet. She also expressed her gratitude to her fans, according to The Source.

But one of her fans did her the honor of tweeting her accomplishments, including her induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and her honorary doctorate in music from Berklee College.

In November, the "Lose Control" artist also received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, The Source reports.

Missy and Timbaland may be cooking up new music.

In December, Timbaland hinted in a separate tweet that a new Elliott album is on the way. 

Elliott responded with a validating tweet that featured a gif of her dancing. 

Missy Elliott entered the music industry in the early 1990s and has had the culture in a chokehold ever since.

Elliott appeared on the music scene in 1991 as a member of the all-female R&B group Fayze.

The five-time Grammy-winning artist is considered a cultural icon and a frontrunner in female hip-hop and R&B.
