Update (December 12, 2019): While some on the internets continue to take issue with Lizzo's thong display at a Sunday NBA game, one team in the league is saying the hit singer can do a court twerk for them any day.  

Waves of backlash ensued after the chart-topping artist showed her backside while dancing along to her song. During the game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Minnesota Vikings, the former team's cheerleaders did a routine to her song, "Juice." Naturally, Lizzo joined in. 

After a video of her dance went viral (thus causing what was arguably the most hilarious aspect of her game attendance to be woefully neglected), some condemned the g-string twerk, even going as far as calling for her to be banned from the arena

Meanwhile, the Houston Rockets were as unbothered as Lizzo. 

"@Lizzo, we like your moves!," read the Wednesday post from the NBA team's Twitter account. "You have an open invite to come home to Houston and dance with @OfficialCCD on the court any time!" 

The 31-year-old gladly accepted. 

"I'll be there with bells on my booty," Lizzo responded. 

Original story (December 9, 2019): We all spent the summer blasting Lizzo's smash hit "Truth Hurts," and the superstar's legions of fans in Minnesota took particular joy in her infamous line about the state's NFL team.

The song got so big that significant investigative efforts were put into figuring out what Lizzo meant when she belted "new man on the Minnesota Vikings."

Now, the Grammy nominee said she's got her eyes on a new Minnesota athlete during a courtside interview at the Lakers game on Sunday.

"Both teams are great, but I'm personally cheering for number 32. Ha ha!" Lizzo told the Fox reporter who asked if she meant 7-foot superstar Karl-Anthony Towns. "That's your guy?" the reporter asked.

"Mhhhmm, that's my baby," Lizzo joked. 

When the reporter asked if Lizzo knew Towns, she replied "no." The singer then began to sing amended lyrics to her hit song.

"New man on the Minnesota Timberwolves," she jokingly sang.

The official team account had fun with the snippet, sharing it on their own page.

Even Towns' alma mater got in on the fun.

Lizzo shared the clip herself on Twitter on Monday.

The singer also had a grand time as the Lakers cheerleaders danced to her hit song "Juice."

Some Twitter users decided to turn the fun moment into a chance to criticize and body shame the singer.

Other Twitter users were quick to come to her defense. 

Interesting everyone posting Beyoncé’s ass, literally. While also saying they tired of seeing Lizzo’s ass and that the constant flaunting of her body is “tacky”. 

And by interesting I meant fatphobic.

Thankfully, Lizzo didn't take the hate to heart, tweeting out a couple of fun videos of herself to show that the incessant fatphobia of the internet wouldn't get her down.

The pop diva also released a glorious new video to her hit single "Good As Hell" on Monday which had fans buzzing about her for more positive reasons.
