Ice Spice and Latto addressed their rumored rap feud and decided to make amends in a new surprise collaboration. The rappers released the track “Gyatt” on Friday, alongside a high-energy music video.
Ice Spice and Latto finally squash their rumored feud
Ice Spice and Latto decided to take on rumors of their alleged feud in the ring. In the music video for “Gyatt,” the two rappers are seen giving interviews and answering questions at a press conference. They then get onto the ring, where they partake in a twerking competition. Both rappers are declared the winner in the end.
The music video for “Gyatt” takes on imagery from combat sports by featuring Latto wearing a championship belt and both rappers performing in the locker room before their fight. The video also stars reality television personality and Love Island USA Season 6’s JaNa Craig. The reality TV personality recently appeared in Key Glock’s “She Ready,” released last week.
In 2024, the rappers were rumored to be feuding as fans saw them make references to each other’s music. On “Think U the S**t (Fart),” Ice Spice rapped, “I got my foot on they necks, I can’t let up/ She all on the floor, told her ‘get up.'” Fans saw it as a reference to Latto’s single “Put It On Da Floor Again.” Then, Latto dropped “Sunday Service,” in which she rapped, “Think I’m the s**t? B***h, I know it, ho/ Jesus walked on water, I got ice boilin’ though.”
Their rumored feud came at a time in which several rappers engaged in similar battles. Megan Thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj took jabs at each other in their own songs, as well as Migos rapper Quavo and Chris Brown and, most famously, Drake and Kendrick Lamar.
Fans rejoiced about Latto and Ice Spice’s ‘Gyatt’ collab
Fans celebrated the collaboration between both rappers.
“Yesssss, you guys are so much more powerful together than beefing!!” commented under the music video on YouTube.
Others rejoiced about the two women choosing to finally collaborate instead of continuing to take jabs at one another.
“I love when ppl collab after having drama. This is the female rap unity we love,” a fan wrote on Instagram.
“from a marketing standpoint this mv was so good” someone else commented.
