Kanye West has not slowed down since he began steadily tweeting his love for President Donald J. Trump earlier this month, as the date of the release of his new upcoming album nears. On Saturday night (April 28), he tweeted that Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting activist Emma González was his hero, but the praise wasn't quite reciprocated on Twitter. 

Much to the dismay of Trump's new MAGA followers, West tweeted a picture of González with a caption reading, "my hero Emma Gonzalez." Although many of the rapper's new supporters, like Donald Trump Jr.,  have celebrated West's recent tweets arguing the freedom to "express yourself," they were not as supportive of his praise of González.

Shortly after West tweeted a picture of González, the March for Our Lives activist turned the attention to Waffle House shooting hero James Shaw Jr. instead. 

"[My] hero James Shaw Jr.,"  González wrote in a caption to a picture of Shaw holding his daughter. 

On Sunday, April 22, 29-year-old Shaw wrestled a gun from Travis Reinking, who killed four people when he opened fire at a Waffle House in Antioch, Tennessee. Since Shaw's brave actions, he has raised money for the families of the victims DeEbony Groves, Joe R. Perez, Taurean C. Sanderlin and Akilah Dasilva. 

West followed his tweet with another picture featuring him with a shaved head. He wrote, "inspired by Emma." But many on Twitter are keeping the attention on Shaw for his heroic act despite the president not yet publicly commenting on him.
