Jazmine Sullivan won two Grammys at Sunday’s 64th annual Grammy Awards at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday. Sullivan’s album Heaux Tales brought home the Grammy for best R&B album, according to the Associated Press.
Sullivan celebrated her win in a poignant speech.

Sullivan said she drew inspiration to write the album “to deal with my own shame and unforgiveness around some of the decisions that I made in my 20s that weren’t favorable.”

“What it ended up being was a safe space for black women to tell their stories,” the emotional 34-year-old said as she held her award, according to the Associated Press. “For us to learn from each other, laugh with each other, and not be exploited.”
“Shout out to all Black women who are just living their lives and being beautiful,” she added.
The songstress nabbed a second Grammy for best R&B performance for “Pick Up Your Feelings,” which tied with Silk Sonic.
The album’s popularity persuaded Sullivan to create a deluxe edition that featured Insecure creator and star Issa Rae, Buzzfeed reports.
