Actor Darius McCrary was released from a San Diego jail weeks after his fugitive arrest on a felony warrant.

McCrary, 49, was extradited from California to Michigan on Wednesday following his Oct. 5 arrest at the U.S.-Mexico border based on an out-of-state felony warrant, according to People.

Blavity reported that the Family Matters alum remained in a San Diego jail for several weeks after a judge denied him bail. He was considered a flight risk over the incident and decided to represent himself. The judge later appointed an attorney for him.

At the hearing, prosecutors stated that McCrary’s agent said he was in Mexico looking to buy real estate. However, his attorney noted that he was in Tijuana working with a charity group to build homes before border agents arrested him for re-entering the U.S. from Mexico.

He has another court date scheduled for Nov. 14, according to online records.

McCrary’s rep, Ann Barlow, argued that the claim that he was a flight risk was false, explaining that he accidentally crossed into Tijuana due to a mix-up about meeting his partner for the Esperanza housing program, per Blavity. She also confirmed that he would fight his extradition case in Michigan.

McCrary will have to face charges in Michigan stemming from the felony warrant for missing a court appearance over $75,000 worth of unpaid child support related to his daughter, Zoey.

TMZ reported that McCrary is being held at the Oakland County Jail near Detroit. His bond has been set at $18,968.32 for failure to pay child support and absconding or forfeiting bond.

In 2017, McCrary went through a tumultuous divorce with his ex-wife, Tammy Brawner, and he has faced other issues, including drug and alcohol abuse and domestic violence. He was also accused of injuring his daughter, resulting in a diagnosis of nursemaid’s elbow, according to People.
