The Oval fans have been waiting to know when the sixth season will finally drop on BET, especially after the fifth season finale ended with a bang–literally.

BET has finally given fans the answer–according to TVLine, the sixth season will come to BET Jan. 7 at 9 p.m.

A resolution of a cliffhanger should be coming

This means fans will finally find out who survived the shocking gunfire fight that closed out the fifth season on a cliffhanger. The survivors and victims could be anyone from the factions supporting the President and First Lady.

One thing we do know–the First Couple are seemingly safe and still at each other’s throats. An X user posted video of the trailer from BET, which shows First Lady Victoria Franklin (Kron Moore) telling her husband, President Hunter Franklin (Ed Quinn), “I will always be in power.”

What is ‘The Oval’ about?

Created by Tyler Perry, The Oval follows a First Family who seems to be the most perfect, loving family to outsiders. But insiders know it’s all a facade. Behind closed doors, the Franklin family are backbiting manipulators out for power and personal gain, and the only love the family has for each other is the love of rising to the top of the political food chain.

The series also stars Daniel Croix Henderson, Javon Johnson, Ptosha Storey, Teesha Renee, Lodric Collins, Ciera Payton, Taja V. Simpson, Walter Fauntleroy, Brad Benedict, Travis Cure, Bill Barrett, Derek A. Dixon, Nick Barrotta, Kaye Singleton, Russell Thomas and Nelson Estevez.
