In his first-ever interview regarding his mom, Wendy Williams, Kevin Hunter Jr. revealed âall sorts of thingsâ are happening that Williams âwould never agree toâ in âher right mind.âÂ
In a recent chat with The U.S. Sun, the 22-year-old revealed fears for his motherâs mental and physical health, which he believes has been jeopardized by the former talk show hostâs inner circle since sheâs been under guardianship.Â

Hunter Jr. further claims her employees are taking advantage of her inability to make sound decisions amid her battle with substance abuse, blaming them for her downward spiral as they reap the benefits of her wealth and fame.
âWhatâs been made more important by the people around her is that while her health may not be great, she needs to keep on earning income, and in my opinion, that should not be a priority at all. And whoever has been hired â they are taking advantage of someone who needs to get better,â her son, who Williams shares with ex-husband Kevin Hunter Sr., said.
..it is NOT looking good for Wendy Williams. Her son has shared how he thinks the mishandling of her (at the hands of her 'new team') is borderline fatal. The college student named Williamsâ publicist Shawn Zanotti, appointed guardian Sabrina Morrissey and manager (who he refers to as âthe jewelerâ) Will Selby, as the employees he asserts are driving income-earning opportunities against her best interests and withholding updates about his mother.
â[Will] reached out to me last year, and he basically said, âWe are planning on this [project] being a way that would tell the public about whatâs happening,â and I was opposed to it. I felt like, and I still feel like, she shouldnât be doing anything that involves putting herself in front of the camera. It goes back to putting work first and herself second,â Hunter Jr. said.
Williams has been under guardianship since 2022 due to her severe alcoholism. Hunter Jr. claims he was present during his motherâs medical appointments where doctors allegedly told them of the âcompounding effectâ of Williamsâ multiple ailments, which, unlike the average person, changes how her body processes alcohol.
âAnd itâs gotten to a point where yes, it could have that effect that it might be fatal because it affects her way worse than a normal person since it stays in her system,â Hunter Jr. explained.
The Sun reported Williams had been hospitalized in New York in mid-May. Despite representative Zanotti denying the claim on May 20, Hunter Jr. went on to confirm the reports in this interview. He claims Wendyâs jeweler-turned-manager, Will Selby, contacted him about his mother’s hospitalization. He said it was the first time he had heard from Selby since the end of 2022.
So Wendyâs son has zero control or say so. I canât imagine my parents being under someone elseâs care and control. He has to find out second hand when she is moved or in the hospital.

In April, Wendy was reportedly âdrinking cosmos all nightâ and bar-hopping, per The Sun. After social media clips confirming said reports were published, Zanotti later released a statement claiming it was âa celebrationâ for the daytime TV legend. But Hunter Jr. sees the incident as evidence of their enabling behavior.
âIf they arenât providing it, they are definitely enabling a type of personality and giving her the green light to drink,â he said.

As a result of her health challenges, Williams took a leave of absence from her daytime talk show before it was eventually canceled last year. Producers were allegedly aware of Williams’ addiction but chose not to support her ârecovery.” âThe Wendy Williams Showâ aired its final episode without its host in June 2022.
In the months since then, the former radio personalityâs team has been promoting the launch of her highly anticipated next project, âThe Wendy Experienceâ podcast, which has yet to come to fruition. Not much has been revealed about her upcoming reality series nor has a premiere date been announced yet.

Hunter Jr.’s concerns for his mother are palpable in the tabloid interview.
“Nobody around her will tell her this, but she doesn’t have to be working,” he said. “She needs to take a break from trying to progress her career and just be proud of what she’s accomplished.”
When asked if he had a plan to help his mom, William’s son said he was “hoping and praying” that the people his mother is surrounded by “don’t lead her down the path to where something can’t happen to help her.”

“If there was a way or if there was a plan I could think of, I wouldn’t be here doing this interview. I would be doing something that I could do,” he told The Sun. “As hard as it is seeing her being taken advantage of, I know that if I’m making sure she, as a person, is OK, that is the important thing.”
