Plan A: Women United Film Showcase will be hosted by the WACO Theater Center, Richard Lawson Studios and M.P.A.C.T. Events on June 30.

The event, which will take place at the WACO Theater Center in Los Angeles, will feature short films in various categories from female filmmakers ages 13 and up. The top-rated film from the showcase will receive a production grant.

S&A Rising Award winner Olivia Morris, Director of Scripted Development at TBS, will be a part of the industry panel alongside Dear White People actress Ashley Blaine, Director of Development at MGM Television Rashonda Joplin, The Last O.G. actress Bresha Webb, Richard Lawson, actor and Founder/Co-Artistic Director of Richard Lawson Studios, and TV/Film/Live Producer Crystal Smith.

The event’s doors open at 3 p.m. and will last from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets for the event start at $20. Donations for WACO Theater Center’s programs and M.P.A.C.T Events community initiatives are also welcome; donors giving $20 will receive a complimentary gift bag. Tickets for the event are available at Eventbrite.

Morris was among a select list of executives honored by Shadow And Act during our inaugural Rising Awards ceremony. Others honored alongside her include Outlier Society’s Alana Mayo, The Blacklist founder Franklin Leonard, 3 Arts Management’s Jermaine Johnson, FX’s John Agbaje, Universal’s Jon Gist, BBC Studios’ Joy Gaines and Will Packer Studios’ Paige Simpson.
