Taraji P. Henson and her TPH Entertainment have set a multi-year first-look deal with Fox Entertainment Studios.

Under this pact, Henson will “serve as executive producer and content originator for both scripted and unscripted television programming, spanning comedy, drama, and reality formats.”

The deal is coming home of sorts, as Henson played the iconic Cookie Lyon on Fox’s long-running series Empire, which won her a Golden Globe and an Emmy nomination.

Henson and Jamila Jordan-Theus’s (Head of Development and Production at TPH Entertainment) team “will hit the ground running, developing a slate of groundbreaking scripted and unscripted projects for FOX Entertainment Studios,” per the studio.

What Fox Entertainment Studios and TPH Entertainment execs say

“Taraji brings tremendous vision, commitment and creative fearlessness to every project, making her a truly inspiring partner,” said Fox Entertainment Studios’ Hannah Pillemer, Head of Scripted and Allison Wallach, Head of Unscripted. “Together with TPH Entertainment, we’re excited to empower new voices and develop projects that both entertain and captivate today’s audiences.”

“We are thrilled to work in partnership with Fernando Szew and the entire FOX Entertainment Studio team as we continue to produce thoughtful and bold stories alongside authentic voices,” said Henson and Jordan-Theus. “TPH stands on the pillars of community, so we are eager to embrace this storytelling collective and deliver compelling creative to audiences across the globe.”

This is Henson’s second deal this month

The news of this television deal comes as she inked a two-picture deal at Netflix earlier this month, under which she will star in and produce films.
