Nia DaCosta and her fans are tired of her name being erased from Candyman.
Ever since the trailer for DaCosta’s Candyman was released in February, there has been the issue of people on Twitter, including some major outlets, neglecting to attach DaCosta’s name as the film’s director to the film. Instead, Jordan Peele, who produced the film, has been mentioned more than DaCosta herself.

Recently, Variety participated in the trend when writing about “Jordan Peele’s Candyman” being pushed to September amid the coronavirus pandemic. DaCosta retweeted the article with the caption, “I have a confession: Jordan Peele’s Candyman is actually moving to September becuase Nia DaCosta just bought Skyrim.”
