This Month’s Must-Watch Releases
‘Squid Game’ S3 (June 27)
As Squid Game returns for its third and final season, the stakes have never been higher—morally, emotionally and physically. The once reluctant participant, Seong Gi-hun, now stands on the edge of rebellion, determined to bring down the sinister organization behind the deadly games.
‘The Ultimatum: Queer Love’ S2 (June 25)
The Ultimatum: Queer Love is a reality dating show with a bold twist: each couple arrives because one person is ready for marriage, and the other isn’t. To test their relationship, they agree to split up temporarily and enter a “trial marriage” with someone else from the group, another person in the same situation. After living with this new partner, they reunite with their original significant other and must decide: do they move forward together, or walk away for good?
‘KPop Demon Hunters’ (June 20)
K-Pop Demon Hunters is an animated action-fantasy film with a unique twist: by day, a stylish K-pop girl group dominates the music charts and dazzles fans with their performances, but by night, they secretly battle supernatural forces threatening humanity. Set in a vibrant, neon-lit world, the group balances the pressure of fame with their hidden duty as fierce demon slayers.
‘The Waterfront’ (June 19)
“This is about a working man who’s trying to make a go of it for his family. They’ve pulled themselves up from nothing and they’ve built this mini fishing empire in their small little town,” creator Williamson tells Tudum. “Now it’s being taken away from them bit by bit.” The Waterfront is a character-driven family drama set in a picturesque coastal town hiding some very messy secrets. At the center is the Buckley family, a powerful political dynasty teetering on the edge of collapse. As tensions rise between generations and hidden agendas surface, the family must confront betrayal, scandal, and the cost of ambition.
‘Straw’ (June 6)
Directed by Tyler Perry and starring Taraji P. Henson, the film explores the slow unraveling of someone society overlooks until it’s too late. Straw follows the story of Angela Brooks, a hardworking single mother living in Atlanta doing everything she can to hold her life together. Struggling with a low-paying job, mounting bills and a broken support system, Angela begins to crack under the constant pressure. After a critical mistake at work and a run-in with an exploitative landlord, she’s pushed into a corner with no easy way out.
‘Ginny & Georgia’ S3 (June 5)
The latest episodes of Ginny & Georgia deepen the emotional stakes, exploring themes of trust, identity and the consequences of choices made long ago. With fresh characters and twists, season three promises more drama, heartfelt moments and the signature blend of humor and suspense that fans love. “Georgia is definitely pushed to her limits, and she has to survive scenarios she’s never had to survive before,” Brianne Howey tells Tudum.
