Former Jessie co-stars Karan Brar and Josie Totah recently went viral after sharing a now-deleted TikTok video of them boo’d up, sparking fan speculation about their relationship. According to People, the pair—who starred in the Debby Ryan-led Disney Channel hit from 2011 to 2015—confirmed they are not romantically involved in a follow-up video.

“We are two platonic best friends who danced a little too close to the sun,” Totah explained in the second video’s caption.

Brar echoed Totah’s sentiment on his Instagram Stories, writing, “It was a joke 😭,” adding that they’re just friends and “didn’t mean to gaslight” fans online.

Though the duo isn’t dating, here’s what they’ve been up to since Jessie.

Josie Totah

After coming out as transgender in 2018, Totah has starred in Peacock’s Saved by the Bell revival in 2020 and Netflix’s Moxie alongside Amy Poehler and Hadley Robinson the following year. She also made a cameo as Willow on the iCarly reboot and voiced Natalie in the Big Mouth spinoff Human Resources in 2022. Since 2023, Totah has starred in the Apple TV+ drama The Buccaneers with 13 Reasons Why alum Alisha Boe and The Society star Kristine Froseth.

Karan Brar

Brar followed up his six-year run on Jessie by joining its popular spinoff, Bunk’d, from 2015 to 2024. He also starred in Pacific Rim: Uprising, Hubie Halloween, and Stargirl. The 25-year-old has also built a successful voice-acting career, lending his voice to the animated mystery series Mira, Royal Detective from 2020 to 2022 and the player-versus-player video game Concord in 2024.
