“Seeking talented women of all shapes and sizes, the auditions will take place in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, Detroit, Miami, London, Toronto, Mexico City, Amsterdam, Rome and Paris,” according to the release.

Debuting in 1981, Dreamgirls has become one of Broadway’s biggest successes. The original production earned 13 Tony Award nominations and won six, including Best Book of a Musical, Best Actor and Actress in Featured Roles, and brought Jennifer Holliday to the mainstream.

The production also starred legendary actresses Sheryl Lee Ralph and Loretta Devine.

The production was reborn in the 2006 musical starring Beyoncé, Jennifer Hudson, Anika Noni Rose, Jamie Foxx, Keith D. Robinson, Sharon Leal, and Danny Glover.
