The CBS This Morning interview R. Kelly had with Gayle King was a tragic display of ego. However, the scene of Kelly ranting against King’s cool and collected demeanor made us think of another dramatic scene–Denzel Washington as Alonzo Harris in Training Day. 

Shadow and Act created a video splicing parts of Kelly’s interview with the iconic scene. The similarities are almost uncanny, particularly with how it showcases how the villainous ego can crumble and fall when it finally gets caught.

Shadow and Act fans sounded off on the video on Twitter, and most were able to find the humor in this otherwise horrible interview.

Kelly was finally arrested on 10 counts of sexual abuse. He pled not guilty. As of Wednesday, Kelly has been put back in custody for failing to pay $161,663 in child support payments.
