The CW has debuted the first trailer for Season 7 of All American.
The new season of the show, which will see the introduction of several new lead characters after several original cast members have left the show.
Original stars Michael Evans Behling, Greta Onieogou, and Bre-Z are back, with Osy Ikhile, Nathaniel McIntyre, Antonio J. Bell, and Alexis Chikaeze as new series regulars. Kareem Grimes and Elijah M. Cooper will be in recurring roles.
Season 7 details and trailer breakdown
A previous logline for the season reads, “Season 7 is taking it back to where it all began: Beverly Hills High and South Crenshaw High. It’s the same heart, same NFL dream, same crosstown rivalry, same messy hormones, ushered in by a new generation of LA teens, a new Beverly Coach and our OG vortex fam, who are surprised to find they’re supposed to be the responsible adults now.”
McIntyre and Ikhile play Kingston “KJ” Jeremy and Coach Cassius Jeremy, respectively, with Bell and Chikaeze returning as Khalil and Amina in expanded roles.
The new trailer is likely to remind longtime All American fans of the show’s origin. Evans Behling’s Jordan Baker seems to be taking over the head coach mantle at Crenshaw High School, just like his father Billy Baker (Taye Diggs). We also see the rivalry between Beverly Hills and Crenshaw, with the respective teams set to be led by McIntyre’s KJ and Bell’s Khalil.
Though she is only returning for a guest appearance and is not a series regular, we also see original series star Samantha Logan in the trailer.
