Season 24 of Big Brother has announced the 16 new Houseguests that will be entering the Big Brother house and compete for $750,000.
The new season will air with a special 90-minute event July 6 at 8/7c. Immediately after Big Brother‘s premiere episode, CBS will air the 90-minute premiere of The Challenge: USA at 9/8c. Big Brother will continue airing Sundays and Wednesdays at 8/7c and Thursdays 9/8c. Each live eviction episode will be hosted by Julie Chen Moonves.
As fans already know, Big Brother features 16 people competing together in a house to be the last Houseguest standing. As CBS describes, “Big Brother follows a group of people living together in a house outfitted with 94 HD cameras and 113 microphones recording their every move 24 hours a day. Each week, someone will be voted out of the house, with the last remaining Houseguest receiving the grand prize of $750,000.”
As mandated by CBS last year, over half of the cast are people of color, with most of that number including Black contestants. Black Houseguests include Ameera Jones, a 31-year-old content designer from Westminster, MD; Jasmine Davis, a 29-year-old entrepreneur from Terry, MS currently living in Atlanta, GA; Marvin Achi, a 28-year-old chemical processing engineer originally from Rivers State, Nigeria currently living in Houston, TX; Monte Taylor, a 27-year-old personal trainer from Bear, DE; Nicole Layog, a 41-year-old private chef from Fort Lauderdale, FL; Taylor Hale, a 27-year-old personal stylist from West Bloomfield, MI; and Terrance Higgins, a 47-year-old bus operator from Chicago, IL.
